Crowd stunned as John Peterson goes Happy Gilmore on first tee
Yes, this actually happened and the video proves it
PGA Tour professional John Peterson entered Sunday’s final round at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia in dead last. There was no cut at the CIMB or Peterson would have been home on Friday night after an opening round 80.
With literally nothing to lose, Peterson started out his final round on the 10th tee with a Happy Gilmore style drive that Jason Dufner captured and posted to Instagram…
* Update on 11/6/15: John Peterson’s Happy Gilmore moment last week in Malaysia has vanished from Jason Dufner’s Instagram account.
The drive went into a water hazard but Peterson went on to par the hole on his way to a six-under par 66, his best round of the week and 14 shots better than his opening round.
To y'all asking. The ball went straight into the pond. Still made par. Geaux Tigers

Geoff Shackelford wonders if fines may be coming from the PGA Tour front office and Alex Myers gives more details on Peterson’s final round tee shot in Malaysia.
